**Examples** of verse in the first 10 plays we've encoded can be found in [_D'r Hofnarr Heidideldum_](https://git.unistra.fr/methal/methal-sources/-/blob/master/bastian-hofnarr-heidideldum.xml), [_Chrischtowe_](https://git.unistra.fr/methal/methal-sources/-/blob/master/clemens-chrischtowe.xml) and [_D'r Poetisch Oscar_](https://git.unistra.fr/methal/methal-sources/-/blob/master/hart-dr-poetisch-oscar.xml). Besides of course [_Pfingstmontag_](https://git.unistra.fr/methal/methal-sources/-/blob/master/arnold-der-pfingstmontag.xml), which is a different case altogether, because it _is_ in verse. If there are clear strophe divisions, use `<lg>` for them.

Otherwise add `<l>` elements directly.

It will probably be appropriate to close the `<p>` element inside the `<sp>` where these verse lines occur, see [this example](https://git.unistra.fr/methal/methal-sources/-/blob/master/clemens-chrischtowe.xml#L557) from Clemens' _Chrischtowe_. Or [this example](https://git.unistra.fr/methal/methal-sources/-/blob/master/clemens-chrischtowe.xml#L657), which is even clearer, since the verse lines are between independent paragraphs inside a narration (the character tells a fairy tale). |
