* Our **metadata source** for the `<teiHeader>` is the play's title page rather than the cover page (i.e. we use the page at the front that lists the title, subtitle, author, music author if any, publisher, often the publication date etc.). This is relevant since the way the publisher is recorded may change from the cover to the title page; in case of conflict, we store the way it's expressed in the "inner" title page. If the cover has additional metadata we can also encode it.

**Capitalization:** We take orthography into account (e.g. initial cap in German nouns) but we do not mimic the case value beyond that. E.g. if the entire name of an author, play or publisher (and so on) happens to have been printed entirely in upper case, we transcribe it as orthography requires, not all in upper case.

**Subtitles:** So far we've been recording mentions to the author as part of the subtitle. This may get modified in the future. Here's some examples of those subtitles that contain a mention to the author:

<title type="sub">Schwank in 3 Aufzügen von G. Stoskopf</title>

See the [Wikidata wiki](https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Help:Sources#Books) for details on both types of itme. Then we set the TEI version to the Wikidata ID of the edition item.

We add a `<respStmt>` with a very brief description of who did what type of work. Adding an ID to the different contributors and a `<revisionDesc>` element to reflect changes in each version (which those IDs would be usd for) has not been done so far but would be useful future work |
